For the Dubrovnik to Korčula ferry, Jadrolinija line 634 sails from Orebić on the Pelješac peninsula to Dominče on Korčula. Orebić ferry port is 127 km and about 2 h 20 from Dubrovnik Airport by routed time, rounded up, along the D8 and the Pelješac roads.

Before any of that, a rental car from Dubrovnik Airport needs permission for the crossing. Under the rental terms for Croatia, travelling by ferry between the islands and the mainland is only possible with prior arrangement, made with customer support before you complete the booking.

Can I take a rental car on the ferry to Korčula?

Only when it has been arranged in advance. Clause 10 of the terms for Croatia requires prior arrangement for any ferry trip between the islands and the mainland, and asks you to contact customer support by email before completing the booking.

Which ferry goes from the mainland to Korčula?

Jadrolinija ferry line 634 connects Orebić on the Pelješac peninsula with Dominče, a settlement on the island of Korčula. It runs year-round with many daily departures, and the 2026 timetable and price list are published on the line's page.

How do ferry tickets for a car work?

Jadrolinija publishes a separate price list for each line. The car fare depends on both length and height, in two bands for cars of up to nine seats, and each passenger, driver included, pays a separate fare. Some lines price low and high season differently.

Tickets are sold on Jadrolinija's website, in the mJadrolinija app and at its agencies, and on board only if the agency is closed. If you buy before collecting the car and do not know the plate yet, Jadrolinija's instruction is to enter RENTAL in the plate field.

The rental terms list fuel, parking, fines and toll roads as the renter's costs. They do not mention ferry fares.

Do I need to arrive early for the ferry?

On lines without reservations, Jadrolinija boards vehicles in order of arrival at the port and does not guarantee a place on the sailing you want. It recommends arriving one to two hours before departure, and earlier on some lines in peak season.

Can I take the car to Mljet or the Elaphite Islands instead?

Mljet is served by Jadrolinija car ferry line 832 from Prapratno on Pelješac to Sobra. The crossing takes 45 minutes and runs every day, and in bad weather sailings from Sobra can leave about 60 minutes late. Mljet has one of Croatia's eight national parks.

From Dubrovnik itself, car ferry line 831 runs year-round to Lopud and Suđurađ on Šipan. Lopud has no cars and the ferry does not load or unload vehicles there, so a car can only go to Šipan; the trip to Suđurađ takes 1 hour 20 minutes. Each of these trips needs the same prior arrangement, made with customer support before the booking is completed.

What is the drive to Orebić like?

The routed path from the airport follows the D8 north and then the Pelješac peninsula roads to Orebić. Ston, on the way, is about 1 h 25 from the airport by routed time.

Rental cars may only travel on paved public roads, and fuel, parking and fines stay the renter's to pay on the island as on the mainland.
